Project Wind-bound!

     Hey-ho~ I've been writing a script/screenplay to fulfill my far fetched dream of making my own manga. I always wanted to make one since I was in college. I did write scripts before but sadly I didn't bring them all with me when I moved to Australia. So I decided to start on a new one.

     I thought it would be easier for me this time too  as this one I'm writing is a one-shot project which seems rather doable unlike the initial project I started ages back which was way too long. It was one of a 12-part series. And thus, due to my incompetence, its not happening. So now I'm working on my first short entitled: "Wind-bound". I haven't gone to the storyboard yet though. I'm still writing a screenplay, setting the whole thing up, and drawing the main characters on the side to help me visualize things better.

Changing Styles

     It has been ages since I last updated my style. I really have to up my game a little bit and grow up a little as an artist. So today I tried to do a little bit of an update starting on the face. I've recently come to love bulkier bodies, and I'm really loving the better defined features and not the skinny set anymore that I usually work on. I realized that the skinny body doesn't match the childish face anymore. I thought it would be fine but its not working much. With that, here's today's little- uhh. success:

Bocchin X Nacchan

     Dada~ I've finally finished with my new pair. Meet Bocchin [Boshi] and Nacchan [Natsuhiko] - the lounge mascots! yayay~

     I did make a few changes from the initial image I made of nacchan in this post. I just decided I want pink hair instead of blonde for Nacchan to make a sweeter image, and I made bocchin blonde not brown which is the original concept when I was working on it. This is also a sort of a Maki Murakami tribute when I decided on the colors. The pink and blonde hair combo is of Yuki Eiri's and Shuichi Shindou's. Murakami-sensei made my very first boy's love anime and I've fallen in love ever since.

Something Like Summer: Review

Something Like Summer by Jay Bell.

     I read gay novels because they have things that I can relate to. But I never thought of finding a book that had it all. Bell created a brilliant novel that covers what a gay man goes through in his life- all the ups and downs, and the troubles we go through.

     Its no coming out story, but it tells you on what goes on after that. Something like summer is so nostalgic and it brought me back to remember the things that I've gone through when I was younger. Somehow, I felt that I wasn't all alone and there are people out there who enjoys similar things, and faces similar problems as I did before. And that was just the start of it, as I progress through the story, I find things that may come in the future. The things that I've been thinking about. This is surely a book I recommend, not only to gay guys out there but to anyone who wants to understand how it all goes.

     On the other news, this book is currently being turned into a movie which is surely one thing to look forward to in 2013. And not only that, I just read from Jay Bell's site that he just published this book's twin: Something like Winter. I shall buy it! Like- now!

WIP: Nacchan and Bocchin

     I'm so excited to finish this baby that I've been working on. I'm practicing as well and I really think I'm starting to get a better grasp at the subject of coloring and shading. I never took any intensive art lessons when I was younger. I just had the art subject in school which was part of the curriculum. Here's a sneak peek!

Its almost summer and morning jogs are just perfect.

Fighting rookie inspired

     As a rookie in the art department, I surf the net for other artists who pursue a similar style to mine. When I used to do y-gallery I get inspiration from here for my drawings. The site's great to meet fellow artists and lovers of yaoi. I love the genre so much and its one of my prime motivators that keep my hand moving- on the tablet of course, cheeky. I dare not to post photos of their works here but you can always visit their page to have a look as I've put in links and stuff- all of which are NSFW. That's just a little disclaimer before you click on more stuff. Do note as well that by leaving my page, I hold no responsibility for anything that your computer would catch. I do believe these sites are safe as I visit them a lot.

     One of the sites I visit recently is monkeygogo who is really good in bara style. I'm not a fan of bara (too much muscle for me to handle) but I do find it very interesting. He's got a good crowd that follows his works too. Plus, he's hot and as another bonus he's got a hot boyfriend as well. I'm so jelly. haha~

Gots my mojo back

     I've been off from blogging for the longest time and it feels rather exciting to be starting again. All thanks to the lovely Dani who miraculously helped me recover from my god damned depressed state just because of my fucked up romance. Despite the fact that she's approximately 3500 miles away me, she was able to be a big help.

     Some months back, the awesome Dani asked me to write a feature on her blog: awesome in manila which I thought might be good to get over it. I needed a distraction so I accepted. Somehow she made me miss writing- be it intentionally or not. Surely I missed the whole thing. Not just writing, but blogging as well. I stopped writing [and blogging] since I hopped off the creative field and doing it again was a wonderful experience. I'm not a very good writer in my opinion but this is something that I've grown to love. Its become a part of me and I feel that this is some real kick-ass therapy. I've lost a lot and I believe the only way to gain it all back is to start to pick up my stuff and start all over again.
